Pump down perforating is an operation where fluid is used to convey plugs, wires, and perforating guns to a desired depth in a horizontal well. After the placement, the guns are fired to create holes through the surface, setting the foundation for frac. This operation not only positions the guns at exact points but also ensures the stability of wellbore pressure, which is important to avoid issues like premature perforations.
