Chief Operating Officer

buddy petersen

Mr. Petersen brings to Alpine over 25 years experience in the completions services industry. Prior to joining Alpine, Mr. Petersen was the Chief Operating Officer of FTS International, one of the largest well completion companies in North America, until it was acquired by ProFrac (NASDAQ: ACDC). Prior to FTS, Mr. Petersen held numerous senior leadership roles in middle-market energy services companies. Mr. Petersen began his career at Halliburton, where he spent 14 years working in various roles of increasing responsibility. He earned a bachelor degree in civil engineering from New Mexico State University.

Vice President of Finance

austin hostetler

Mr. Hostetler brings a wealth of experience as the Vice President of Finance, with a diverse background in finance roles across the oilfield services sector. Prior to his current position, he held key finance roles at Rocky Mountain Investor Holdings and served as Co-founder and Director of Finance at Lobo Logistics. His experience also includes contributions to finance operations at 29 South Co. Austin holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa.

Vice President of Operations

ben sprague

Mr. Sprague brings to Alpine Energy an extensive background and understanding of hydraulic fracturing, downhole stimulation, and management of distributed field teams. Mr. Sprague has managed numerous service companies from startup to exit and has played many roles from equipment operator to leadership of large operational teams. Prior to Alpine, Mr. Sprague was VP of Operations at Quantum Oilfield Solutions responsible for all field operations and maintenance for the pump down services division. Mr. Sprague has also managed the maintenance division and was a part of the build out process and shop set up for Gladiator Energy Services in Pecos, Texas from 2021 to 2023. Previously, Mr. Sprague was a key player in the rapid growth of Rockpile Energy Services and oversaw the growth and development of the Permian Basin District as the District Manager until Rockpile’s acquisition by NexTier in 2017. Mr. Sprague brings 15 plus years of completions services experience to Alpine and has worked in many basins across the US.

Vice President of Business Development

Mr. Florence has over 10 years of experience in operations and business development roles across the midstream and energy services sectors. Prior to his role at Alpine, Mr. Florence served as a Senior Associate at 29 South where he drove business development and operational initiatives across a number of portfolio companies. Previously, Mr. Florence spent 5 years at TSS, an industry leader in proppant logistics solutions to the oil and gas industry, serving as Director of Business Development where his main focus was driving commercial strategy and managing operational KPIs across all business units. Mr. Florence earned a BS in Finance and BS in Economics from the University of Alabama and a M.B.A. focused on Energy Finance from Texas Christian University.

R. Curt Dacar

Mr. Dacar brings to Alpine extensive experience in the completions services industry. Mr. Dacar has served on the boards of numerous companies including most recently Conquest Completions (an oilfield services company backed by Warburg Pincus) and Epic Performance Solutions (a maintenance technology company backed by 29 South). Previously, Mr. Dacar was the Co-Founder and CEO of RockPile Energy Services, a leading provider of completions services and technology to the U.S. oil and gas industry, until its acquisition by NexTier Oilfield Solutions (NYSE: NEX). Prior to RockPile, Mr. Dacar spent 32 years with Schlumberger Technology Corporation in roles of increasing responsibility culminating his career as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Western United States for all OFS service lines. Mr. Dacar received a BS in Business Management from Regis University and a MS from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
